About a week ago, our 19 year old daughter moved out of state in pursuit of the adventures God has for her. She will be living out of state for at least 6 months but it’s totally up to God. All He is asking me to do is have faith and trust Him. To be honest I was left with a roller coaster full of different emotions but I am grateful to God for giving her this opportunity.

A few days after my daughter left, a dear sister in Christ reached out to me to see how I was doing. I told her I was doing fine because God had given me a big hug. God gave me a big hug by revealing Himself through his word and ensuring me that everything was going to be okay. I will not lie, I still missed my little girl.

There are sad tears and happy tears at the beginning of every new journey or adventure in life; just like on stormy, windy or rainy days there is a rainbow, and the promise of God is revealed through His beautiful love that we can forever hold onto.

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11 (New International Version)

  17. Thank you for sharing this great post on the prodigal son parable! I especially like how you mention the positive emotions experienced during the sons return home. I think that these include joy, forgiveness, gratitude, and several others! I write about this parable in my own post from the perspective of positive psychology, which asks what it means to live a meaningful and fulfilling life from a scientific point of view. I believe that this field and my christian faith are strongly complementary to each other. I hope you get a chance to check it out sometime, and I welcome any contributions you may have to the content. Great post, I hope you are doing well, and God bless you! Lizbeth Brien Filomena
